X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

Wolverine isn't half bad.

Sure, the storyline is a bit pointless at times and doesn't make sense, and there's that scene where Gambit acts like a complete idiot and attacks the wrong guy (read: Wolverine), but other than that, it wasn't as shiteous as most of the world pegged it to be.

[The old couple was VERY unnecessary. Poor old people.]

As with every X-Men movie, the fight scenes are lovely, though some of the special effects looked a bit fake (the part where Logan checks out his newly-minted claws, they looked a bit flimsy). As much as I love Liev Shreiber, I would've preferred Tyler Mane. *cough*continuity*cough*
Also, based on the timeline, his look doesn't suit the movie. The much more refined and sophisticated-looking Sabretooth in this movie looks like he belongs in the Ultimate universe (even Ultimate Sabretooth doesn't look like that), and since Movie Franchise Sabretooth already looks like Tyler Mane... it just doesn't make sense how Victor becomes exceedingly primal in, what, 30 years? Out of the 150 years he's been living?

5.5/10. Wasn't as devastatingly bad as hearsay put it to be. Just chuck your brain aside before you start watching.

[I'd also like to say that Ryan Reynolds' ARMS would be worth the price of admission, but we don't see them a lot, so no.]

Deadpool, Wolverine sequels confirmed!

Barely days after Wolverine's release, Marvel has confirmed another sequel about Wolverine and a spin-off for Deadpool, both of which will be based on each of the two endings in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Not too sure about the Wolverine one, but apparently the Deadpool movie will be set BEFORE the events in Origin, which will explore more of the Merc with the Mouth's origins.

[They'll probably call it X-Men Origins: Deadpool. So much for originality.]

Wolverine kicks ass!

Despite early awful, awful, awful reviews, Wolverine took in $87 million during its opening weekend in the States and Canada, with a total of $160 mil worldwide!!

[Sorry, Watchmen. $55 mil for opening weekend.]

"Hi, I'm a Marvel...

...and I'm a DC."

It's Just Some Random Guy had posted a new one some days ago, with Deadpool doing the rounds with the Watchmen.

Loved it, loved it, loved it. Enjoy :)

Wolverine gets awful reviews!

Based on the Tomatometer, Wolverine is doing way, way, way worse than Watchmen ever did, with only 38% freshness on its second day, while Watchmen, currently in its 7th week, is at 64%.

[I used Watchmen as a basis for comparison because everyone but the fans (and I) said that the movie was crap. In your faces, professional reviewers.]

GQ UK says that it's worse than Australia. Major burn. I haven't seen it (because I really don't want to), but the general consensus was that it was awful.

Don't know how it's doing at the box-office, because it's too early for the figures. Let's hope future reviews aren't so bad.

[Maybe I should sway Pammy into seeing Star Trek instead. Even though she knows jack about it.]

8 new clips from Wolverine!

Courtesy of MovieWeb.com! So's not to spoil too much (from face value of said clips), I've embedded three videos on here, with links to the other six.

Each individual video shows us a bit of the new line-up, with one for Fred Dukes, Remy LeBeau and John Wraith.

[HUMAN names, not mutant :)]

Enjoy! :D

Guess who's back?

[Back again.]

Since I've neglected the blog for a week, here is a summary/round-up (sorry Cracked) of news items of note:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

According to FirstShowing.net, multiple endings are in store, with each theatre showing a different one, similar to Clue, back in the '80's.

[I can't think of a more recent movie. Sue me.]

There's no mention of how many different endings there will be, although with the release of Wolverine to the general public less than a week away, we'll find out soon enough.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Duo character pics! See below:

Hopefully, this is confirmation that we will get more Quidditch this time around.

Up

Head on to FirstShowing.net (again, I know) to check out concept art of Carl, starting from when he was just a boy, to the now-grumpy old man we all know him for.

Wolverine character videos!!

Five of them! 30 seconds each, we start off with Wolverine, then Sabretooth, Gambit, Deadpool, and Wraith. SERIOUSLY cannot wait for May 1st.

[I'm most excited to see Gambit xD]

Enjoy :)

I know this is kinda old news, but...

Apparently, Wolverine has leaked onto the Internets!!11! Not the COMPLETED version, though; just the workprint, which means that there's no CGI added in, and you probably can see everyone in harnesses. Maybe.

Now, I still don't really know whether it's true or not, since the news broke out around April 1st, which is the Universal April Fools' Day, but a lot of news sources are picking this up. Including the big ones too. Which makes it even harder to determine whether it's fake or real.

Over here, you can read Fox's statement as to the breach of security. Date of the article is ALSO April 1st.

Oh, boy.

X-Men O character posters!

Either they've forgotten Deadpool or left him out intentionally, but eh, the others look cool anyways. Here are Wolverine's, Sabretooth's and Gambit's, and you can find the rest at this link here.

2) Star Trek

3) Angels & Demons

4) Up

5) Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen

6) The A-Team (?)

7) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Kicking it off is the final trailer for X-Men O below. Expect more news on those movies (when available) in the days to come! :)
